Weekend Family Fun, Nassau County Bayfront Celebration

Each year our family heads over to Fernandina Beach for the entertainment and food as part of the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. It is a big event, with fine arts & crafts, zany contests, a pirate invasion, the Miss Shrimp Pageant, and more. A nice family event, as the children loved the Shrimp Festival Pirate Parade and the Kid's Fun Zone. We enjoyed the savory food choices, as the festival's theme is Culinary Creations of Shrimp, a Tribute to Chefs of Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach.

	What a perfect place to hold a festival, this is the Downtown Historic District in Fernandina Beach.
	Pirates roaming the Atlantic Ocean are just one of Amelia Island's tales that come to life at the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival!
	Many of the art displayed is from local artists depicting waterfront themes from along the coastline of Amelia Island.
	Yum, Yum, it is lunch time! Expect a lot of food choices, with boatloads of fresh seafood and shrimp dishes, grilled or fried.
	This is the waterfront boardwalk at Historic Fernandina Beach, known as the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry.
	The festival delivers a wide array of beautiful art works, nautical collectibles, jewels, and more.
	While you taste various shrimp dishes, don't miss the pirate parade and the pirate sword fights, as they invade the Fernandina streets by a giant pirate shrimp boat.
	Treat your family to a feast of the sea, including shrimp dinners, grilled grouper, crawfish, and cajun shrimp on-a-stick.
